Hello

Hey, I'm Sarah. I currently live in Lancashire and married with several fur babies. I was a child carer and also experienced a parent bereavement at a very young age whilst struggling with dyslexia, which had a great negative impact on my self-esteem.

I eventually gained a first in fine art and trained as a further education teacher and counsellor. I went on to work as a therapist for 20 yrs in my local hospice. This was a great privilege and I provided opportunities for people to make keepsake items for their families, trying new creative activities, baking and gardening, to name a few.

In my early 30's, I started to experience health issues which lead to me becoming disabled. These rich learning episodes in my life journey have shaped the person I am today. Furthermore, through adapting and making the best of things, I have been able to create a good quality of life for myself.

One way I am using these experiences is to try and create some positive resources for children. My first book was Flora and Friends Make a Treasure Book. This is a bereavement tool for children and has instructions to make their very own keepsake/treasure book.

I have always had a deep love and respect for nature and wildlife, and this comes across in my artwork. At home in the garden, I love to feed the birds and create a safe place for hedgehogs, while enjoying a gentle garden potter. I am currently enjoying painting pets and the natural world.

Thank you for visiting my website and taking an interest in my artwork, it means a lot. If you have any questions about me, my art or would like to discuss working together, then I'd love to talk.
